How do you prove a will?

Video Transcript

A will can be proved in one of two ways. First off, which is typical when you’re hiring an estate planning attorney, is that the will can have a self-proving affidavit attached to it, meaning there are notarized statements attached to the will saying that it was executed in conformance with Florida law. If the will does not contain a self-proving affidavit, then it’s necessary to have the witnesses show up in court and testify as to the validity of the will and that it was properly executed.
