Where should I keep my estate planning documents?
Video Transcript
I recommend keeping your estate planning documents at home where you keep your other important papers. I do not recommend keeping your documents in a safe deposit box. Safe deposit boxes are very difficult to access upon someone’s death. Oftentimes a court order is needed to open the box. That could become very difficult and very expensive. If the documents are kept at home, they’re more easily accessible. In addition, our firm keeps copies electronically of all the documents executed by our clients.
